Let's be honest

What HostDesk does, and what it does not.

This feature covers non-classified furnished tourist rentals.

The tourist tax is collected on behalf of your commune: it is a neutral flow for you. HostDesk applies the legal formula for non-classified furnished rentals and configures it per property and per year — rate, cap per night per person and additional county tax.

On every booking, HostDesk computes the tax automatically, shows it separately and removes it from your accounting revenue. Everything stays verifiable: net-of-tax gross revenue + tourist tax = amount collected.

What HostDesk does not do: it does not fill in the forms, does not send the declaration to the town hall and does not make the payment. It prepares the total collected; you remit it yourself according to your local obligations.

In accounting

A neutral flow, never mixed into your revenue.

The tourist tax does not inflate your revenue: your gross is computed net of tax. In accounting you read three distinct lines — gross revenue net of tax, tourist tax collected, and a check (the sum equals the amount collected). No confusion with your profitability ratios, and no artificially inflated revenue.

Frequently asked questions

Calculation, configuration and remittance.

Does HostDesk file the declaration and pay the tax?

No. HostDesk computes the tourist tax and shows you the total collected per month, year and property. You file and remit it to your commune yourself, according to your local obligations (online service, form, etc.).

How is the tax calculated?

Using the legal formula for non-classified furnished rentals: the per-person, per-night share, capped, multiplied by the additional county tax, the number of people and the number of nights. HostDesk recomputes it automatically if you change the amount, the number of guests or the property's scale.

Can the scale be configured per commune?

Yes. For each property and each year you set the rate, the cap per night per person and the additional tax. The scale is versioned by year: past years are never overwritten, which keeps your declarations consistent.

Is the tax counted in my revenue?

No. The tourist tax is a neutral flow: your gross revenue is computed net of tax. It appears as a separate 'tax collected' amount, never mixed into your income or your profitability statistics.

What about classified (star-rated) rentals?

The feature currently covers non-classified furnished tourist rentals. Classified accommodation follows a different scale that is not handled in this version.
